LMS 16 (Learning Management System course for Link 16)

Duration: Self-paced (10 sessions)

The LMS 16 course offers a flexible, self-paced introduction to Link 16, designed for those who need a foundational understanding of Tactical Data Links (TDLs) but cannot attend in-person training.

Delivered through Atheniem’s online learning platform, the course mirrors the content of the Link 16 Foundation programme and allows students to complete interactive modules at their own pace, with short knowledge checks after each session and a certificate of completion upon finishing the course.

Participants will explore:

Core concepts behind the need for TDLs and the evolution of Link 16

Frequency management and electronic protection measures (EPM)

TDMA architecture principles, access modes, and network design

J-Messages, NPGs, and synchronisation within operational networks

Relay techniques and regulatory considerations for MIDS/JTIDS operation

By the end of the course, attendees will have a solid, verified awareness of Link 16 with its purpose, technical characteristics, and operational applications within modern joint and coalition environments.
