Steve is a highly experienced Tactical Data Link (TDL) Subject Matter Expert and defence consultant, bringing over 23 years of operational and technical experience gained as an Above Water Tactical (AWT) Warfare Specialist within the Royal Navy. He provides specialist consultancy across Link 1, Link 11, Link 16, JREAP, and Link 22, operating within Land, Air, and Maritime domains.

He has extensive experience supporting front-line operations and delivering specialist advice to military and industry stakeholders on the design, planning, engineering, and operational employment of Tactical Data Links. Steve is recognised for his deep understanding of Land/Air and Maritime Combat Management Systems, and for providing authoritative input into complex multi-domain integration activities.

Steve offers proven capability in interoperability assurance, including the production of multinational, high-level Interoperability Engineering Reports (IERs), detailed fault diagnosis, engineering analysis, and the development of robust, operationally informed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). His consultancy work routinely bridges the gap between system engineering, operational requirements, and user employment.

Over the last 18 months, Steve has been heavily engaged in Command System integration and verification activities, including the authorship of formal test plans and execution of testing for Link 16 and Link 22 integration programmes, providing assurance to customers on system performance, compliance, and operational suitability.
